You got a reel to reel! man I know whos house I am going to rob!

Yeah, when I was in the service, in Japan, right after I got there, one of the guys in our Squadron, had bought an Akai 1800 Reel to Reel w/ the 8 track player/recorder and Akai brought out the 1800SD which had more features and he really wanted one, but needed to sell this one. So, I bought a nearly new 1800 from him and I've still got it. There are a couple of 1800SDs on ebay now, but no 1800s. I was concerned about the belt life on mine as I replaced them back in the 70s or 80s (memory problem) and the thing has been sitting on a shelf in my closet for years. SO, when I saw the kit (w/ belts, motor and meters) on ebay with a low Buy it now price, I picked up on it.
I'll tell you thought, as soon as you entered my home, you'd think somebody beat you to it, because it is pretty cluttered.

I've kinda let things go for a while after July and trying to get it back together.
Thing is,when I worked at Fort Chaffee, I had a buddy bring me some tapes (reel to reel) one day, in a big box and I have never really checked them out because my equipment was packed away (we don't have much room). Now, I am working on getting the equipment out and settingthings up, so I can enjoy it and check out those tapes that I have packed away also. I also still have a few 8-track tapes that haven't come apart yet and the 8 track player on the Reel to Reel, works quite well.
