Fuel Connectors between Carbs CB350F
« on: February 04, 2010, 07:17:54 PM »
Hello:  Rebuilding the carb quartet from my 11/72 CB350F, and broke the plastic fuel supply connector between carbs 3 and 4.  This is the short plastic job with 4 o-rings.  Does anybody make replacements, maybe even in metal!?  Seems not available as a part number.  Thanks to all readers.

I've made some from 3/8" aluminum rod stock on my lathe.  If you put some (cosmetic) black heat-shrink tubing over the center section, it looks like OEM.  I guess I should start cranking out a few of these and posting them up for sale.

Hi:  A screw machine could spit these connectors out, one every few seconds, but they might want to make 5000 of them.  Individually on the lathe it probably one every 20 minutes.  Thanks, Don

Might take a little longer setting up and getting the first one right, but I'd still be willing to do it for $20.  Just let me know.

I know this topic has been dead for a while but I've run into the same exact thing - I broke the hard plastic fuel supply connector.  I've been at in impasse as I haven't been able to find a replacement and am considering buying my second set of Ebay carbs for just this part.  Any luck with replacements or tips?

Kevin, if you're still open to making the part I might take you up on that as its the only thing keeping the bike off the road during these nice summer months.

Thanks,

Ryan

I'll see what I can do by the end of the week, and send you a PM.

Thanks for the input bowswell.  I've had a couple other people suggest that getting one fabricated out of metal would be a solution so I guess its good to hear that Honda has come to the same conclusion.

Kevin, let me know what you figure out.

As it turns out......I was out of stock to turn the connectors.  Arrrggh.

I'll see if I can find some material today at a local supplier, and I should be able to make a few fuel tubes later this weekend.  I've just made them from aluminum in the past, but I may try doing some from bronze or brass in addition to aluminum.

Made one this evening for practice.  I think I can probably tweak the lathe tooling a bit and get a slightly better surface finish down in the grooves on the next one, but this one would work OK if you're in a hurry.

I'm anxious to get it running but not so anxious that I can't wait until you have it all worked out.  Thanks for your effort.

Anyone successful in finding these anywhere?  Looking for one now.  Thanks.
