Topic: Tyre recommendations for CB750K?

I've looked thru the FAQ for wheels and tyres and I am all set to true my 78 CB750K spoked wheels.

What I am hoping for some guidance on was what sort of tyres to shop for that would be close to original OEM as Honda provided with the bike in 1978? I don't race or have any other special requirements. I am trying to restore my K8 to as close as original as possible.

I haven't been shopping for tyres yet and I don't have any biases towards a particular brand.

What should I be looking at?

Bridgestone has some tires that are great for it and close to original.

I'm trying to find motorcycle tires on their website, but can't get there.
Motorcycle tires goes to their USA Motorsport website and I can't find motorcycle tires there.
I just want some OEM type replacements.
Will try again in the morning

i dont race and mine runes Dunlop D404's... pretty good tread life feels good and is much safer than stock tread patern and it looks pretty orig..

Hi you could try Dunlop TT100'S or Dunlop K70'S Gold seals,  cheers Mick.

Frankly I thought that asking about tyres would be like asking about OIL?

Come on folks, there must be more opinions/guidance out there?!

This is where the rubber meets the road...

What tyres should I be looking today at to get an original look and the best ride like Honda intended for my restoration bike?

Should they be tubed or tubeless? Should I stick with the factory sizes? What about tread patterns?

Reasonable cost should also be a consideration.

I've never mounted a motorcycle tyre before. Should I have the dealer do this or could/should I attempt it?

I carefully read the instructions in the FAQs for truing the rim and spokes and I think that I will try to do that. But what about dynamic balancing? Is this normally part of mounting a new tyre service like it is with car tyres?

Your spoked wheels will require tube type tires and matching tubes.  Opps, tyres that is.  The rim is not sealed.

My 75 came factory with Bridgestones, but can't remember the model.

You never mentioned in your posts that you did a search on the forum for tyres/tires.

I am pretty sure there are lots of posts with responses on them already.

Look there first, if you have more specific questions then by all means ask away.

I ended up with Dunlop D404's based on price and familiarity with their performance.

Dennis Kirk has nice filtering based on rim size, width, price etc. Here's a tire search for only 18 and 19 rims - up to 130 that ought to cover just about all your options on stock rims

I was using the English spelling just for fun and for attention.
I looked in the FAQs carefully but I did not search specifically for tires or tyres but I will do that diligently this weekend.

I'm not trying to give you guff, I have done a search or two for both spellings and it gave me more than enough info to make a purchase decision.
