I really don't know diddly in the 550 dept and not much more in my bike of choice but are you looking to just replace them, NOS, Keihin CRs? What exactly do you mean by "new"?

I can't imagine $1500 for a set of carbs even if they're these - around $7 - 800 for the CB750

If you're just streeting it head over to eBay, your local craigslist or check the for sale section here and wait for a used stock set to come available.

If you've got a set in hand - rebuild them.

Anyways, folks who know will post if you give them more details.

The price really depends on their condition. You could probably piece together a set of brand new OEM carbs for $1500. But there really isnt any reason to do that. I would suggest just getting some used carbs off another bike and rebuild them and if its done correctly they will run just as good as brand new OEM. Rebuild kits usually cost around $15-$30 a carb (you will need 4).

I have a 75 550 donor bike with a set of carbs if your friend is interested pm me on here!

Several places offer the CR carbs for the $700-$800 Iggy mentioned. A search string with "CB500 Keihin CR" will turn them up. I understand they are not a direct fit-up but will require some fiddling.

Stock carbs in good rebuildable shape are almost always available on Ebay. I count five or six right now.

+1

No sense in spending $1000+ or more for a set of new performance carbs if brand new performance carbs aren't what you need.
