Hey there, new member and owner of a 76 CB550F. I was told I should buy your bike, and I went through the whole thread to see how relevant the book would be. Maybe I missed a posting somewhere through the 15 pages, but do you have a 550 coming out?

Yeah, I think this thread is BECOMING a book?

The book doesn't really fit the 500/550 much, as the engines are a different design in several ways. Generally speaking, the 750 was designed after the Hawk engines' techniques, and the 500/550/350F/400F follows the Honda Singles. There seemed to be 2 major "design philosophies" at Honda in those days.

The wiring schematics, on a circuit-by-circuit basis, are almost identical for the CB750K0-K2 and the CB500/550K1, and the CB750K3-K6 is like the CB550K2 (late version) and following Mid-fours. The chasses are similar enough that even Honda's manuals look alike, but things like Torque Specs, part numbers, and the pictures themselves are all CB750 in this book.

I'm taking lots of pix for an upcoming shot at the 500/550/350F/400F bikes, but it will be a while. Sorry!

You'll see a whole bunch of K1 engines shots in it! Mine is a K1 engine, and it posed for a bunch of the pictures.

Oh, ouch! I don't know?
Try an Internet search for "lulu publishing coupons", that's how I find them.
Once in a great while they send it directly to me, but they stopped doing that about a year ago, for some reason.

Waiting wasn't all bad: I just 'fixed' the Bearing Tables (again) in August. Somehow, the old manuscript got shuffled back into the printing system, and some lately (or when?) got out with the old Honda tables in them, like the very first printing had. Those bearing tables had an extra "(" after the decimal points, for some reason. So, I just put up a post for those who got one of those books, where you can print a page and cut it out to exactly fit over the incorrect numbers (Or, just cross out the "9" after the decimal points, same thing...).
