First Drag race.

The first of the AMA drag race series at Valdosta on the 5th 6th and 7th March.
Anybody up for it?

If it makes you feel any better.... I took the bus out of service.  8)

Where I hit the front corner tripped the kill switch (installed in case of an accident). The motor locked up and instead of buying a new one to replace it they scrapped it.

Not bad for a little dent eh?

I still have a cup from there one year. It was a great place to spend some time between races, before heading down to Gainsville for NHRA Gatornationals. The first real sun and warmth of the year.

Sam,
     I've got friends going down then to run their sleds (snowmobiles) that weekend. 8.4's at 153 mph with 1000 cc of two stroke motors on gas. It's not a new class, just a racing group being allowed to do an exhibition race. It will be a little quicker than your Hondamatic....

I traveled down to Valdosta with two fit blondes sat next to me on the plane. The next time I saw them was in the pits. They were down from Canada with a couple of sleds, they were awsome and the sleds wern't bad as well. ::)
Last year a turbo 4 stroke nearly ran in the 7s around 180mph, people were  :o :o :o :o :o :o

Sam, hope ya have a good time. I won't make it this time around(met you there last year with my friend Kevin) because of bike week and the Gator nationals. If you have not been Gator nationals you should try to make it. It's only a few more miles and a few more days!

Unfortunately, it was after your buddies Honda was already out. Thats the first time I saw bikes run on the concrete strip. I can see why they like it. One of the things that impressed me was how fast and consistant that Orange Harley Bagger was! I still wanted to see the old Hondas run. But, I got to meet you Sam(my pleasure) and I got lucky enough to win one of the Elmer Trett posters for the shop. Come on down to gainsville, I'll buy you a beer.

Sam, we won't be making it down this time. I've got a few bikes inside the shop now for some changes for the season. If we were coming, i'd gladly let you ride my 750F in Pro ET. Hopefully your auto will be ready by the end of the year and we'll hook up then.
