Not wrong way. My Mulholland shock lower mount fork is centred, no offset. On the 400F the stock shock is about 1" diameter past the chainguard. The Boge/Mulholland spring goes much further down the shock body, and the chainguard is only made to clear the stock shock.
The stock 38T rear sprocket puts the chain just about even with the spring tension adjusting ring's upper flange depending on which setting you choose. A standard chain's pin ends will hit the flange, O-ring chain side plates interfere.
Definitely other models will fit differently.
This offset sounds promising. I've never seen one with an offset. I have about 3 sets here bought new (long ago) and at flea markets over the years.
How does the upper mount accomodate the offste? All stock shocks I've seen have the upper mount and lower mount aligned.

Bodi, I don't know how your shocks look but check out the photo on page 10 from 78K550, it shows the offset of the Boge shock, well same as mine anyway.

I've never had any dealing with this myself but, maybe the offset didn't come out on
these shocks until sometime after your shocks were made Bodi. I'm just guessing you know.
Maybe situations like yours prompted the to offset the mounts. I know that doesn't help you
but, at least maybe that would explain it. I've got a pair of these on the way myself.

I do have a set being shipped today so, in a few days, I'll have my own. Later on, Bill

Received my shocks today, I had bought and paid for them April 17th

I paid the extra bucks for the express mail and here it is April 24th and received them up here, Toronto Canada inside a week.

Without even mounting these, they are impressive looking and came complete with both wrenches for adjustments and rebuilding and instructions

$50 US they are a steal

Thanks Tim,

Regards,
Brian

Well all good things must come to an end!
I have just 10 pr. left and their going on ebay TODAY! Thanks to all who purchased shocks from me! I can't thank you enough. It's been a real pleasure dealing with all of you.
I am a service manager at a motorcycle salvage yard in the Denver area and yes I get the opportunity to work on lots of old Hondas, 750s', 550's included. As you know, your local Honda guy will tell ya to go pound sand if you need a repair on your old bike, unless they have an old fool like me, that hasn't figured out a better way to make a living! (Hey that reminds me, I didn't check my lotto ticket yet) LOL.
Special thanks to you Terry, for hooking me up with this website. There is something special to be said for the friendships and commaraderie you find in the motorcycle world, and I appreciate the friends I've made and look forward to the ones I'll meet!
Thanks again,
Tim    ;D

I just thought I would comment.  I bought a set of Boge shocks for my cb500 with the light springs.  I must say that this combination provided a great improvement in ride and handling.  As a lightweight I found the stock springs to be a bit too stiff and the dampers did not seem to do anything.  The new setup gives more compliance over bumps and a more stable ride through twisty roads.

I contacted Tim directly and procured a set of shocks this morning.  Just thought I would mention it to those of us who are looking for a set and don't want to wait/depend on Ebay.

I bought a set off Ebay last week sometime and got them shortly after that. They feel really nice, although I haven't had a chance to get any extensive seat-time with them yet. They look great on the bike too!

Here's the story i had to move my oldest back from collage this weekend,so i had to clean out the race trailer, 25-7-7, thats were i keep the shox stash. In one of the boxxes of boge 305 was a layer of the boge 320's thats how i found the last 5 sets. I put them on e-bay tonight. I do have 4or5 shox's that i held back just in case somebody got a bad one. I also sent a guy idown under the wrong ones. He wanted the 305's and i set him the 320's, so in a couple of weeks i might have 2 more sets. I hate getting old, it's a #$%* !!!!  TIM

Hey Tim, if you want to save on the return shipping from "Down under", re-direct 'em to me mate! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

I effed up his last auction by accidentally ordering two sets. I'd been assuming the $50 was per shock.

Fifty bucks for a PAIR of shocks. Too bad he's not selling whole NOS motorbikes.

Hey Noel, did you miss out on that auction too? Those 3 NOS Sandcast CB750's that Tim sold me for 150 bucks are gonna be great when they finally arrive here, it's a pity I've no room in my garage and I'll have to park 'em out in the rain! Oh well...........  ;D

I bought mine a while back, but unfortunately the postal system is taking it's sweet time.  Hopefully I'll have them soon to mate up with the new springs in my front forks, which are wonderous.

ooohhh new front springs, that sounds great too. I'd settle for some damping. I gotta change those seals
