vaccum hoses off carbs/ leaky pitcock
« on: January 09, 2006, 06:28:08 PM »
When removing my carbs from my cb400 I pulled of two hoses that connected to somewhere on the bike. The hoses are attached to the carbs, one for cabs one/two and the other for carbs three/four. They seem to attach to a fuel rail but are not attached directly to the pitcock like the main fuel line. Does anyone know if they are fuel hoses or vacuum hoses? The bike doesn't run yet but I'd like to know. Also, I broke the beveled o-ring inside the bottom of the pitcock and am having trouble sealing it up...any suggestions...

The two hoses vent the float bowls. Route to the back of the engine in front of the rear wheel. The petcock bowl o-ring was round originally, pick one up at your friendly neighbourhood honda dealer, or wherever fine o-rings are sold!

Having recently bought a 500/Four I am like you, on a rapid learning curve, sometimes what seems like a dumb question because all the guys out there know the answer and we don't is not a bumb question at all. This is why this forum works so well, and we learn from others efforts. KDF
