Top tree spacer
« on: February 09, 2010, 10:34:45 AM »
Hello,
Honda discontinued this part.  Anyone know how thick it is so I can just make my own?  It goes on the top fork tree where the bolt is so you dont' over clamp your forks and crack your top fork bracket.  part # 53235-300-000

Here is a pic?  Thanks.

This is from MCRider from a ways back (I need them too):

Quote
The stock spacer is 2.28mm or .09 in thick

The hardened head nut washer is .091" or 2.34mm thick.

I think that's close enough to use. The head nut washer is slighter greater diameter so it will stick out a tad. You could probably thin it by rubbing between 2 pieces of emory cloth if one cared to.

Of course you'd need to grind the flat spot into it.

You could maybe stack two thin 8mm washers in the space to keep the same diameter.
