Hi, Cavebear. Boss lookin' Rickman. I'm curious about your rotors. Did you have them done? What can you tell us about them? I assume they're ductile iron? Thanks in advance. RR

Ricky.

Iron rotor and AP/lockart brake calipers and master cylinders all around.   Borriani rims and stainless spokes . Again, enough HP to top out at 154 MPH at 10,000 RPM. I had to sell the bike a year and a half ago.  Care to guess the sales price?

Ricky, I made a mistake in the last post. The calipers were AP/Lockheed all around. I assume they
were added during its conversion to a full time race bike starting in 1991.

Hi, Cavebear. Thanks for the response.

I though I saw this bike for sale last year! Ebay? I like the fairing and the seat. I recently contacted Mototumbi for a similar Rickman competition seat to replace my regular Rickman CR seat, but the price for the fiberglass pan alone was over $200 delivered. If I can't find another supplier, I may have to step up.

The AP Racing calipers, CP3696, were standard on the Rickman CR, and are still available for largish $$$. However, the Lockheed rotors were quite small and appear so even more today. That's why I was interested in some provinence on the rotors. I'd like to fit larger diameter rotors to my upcoming Rickman CR build and thought perhaps you had some knowledge of the supplier.

Reputedly, Rickman supplied some 41.3mm Rickman forks with a double-sided hub in a dual-disk version for racing. Not the more common 38mm dual disk Betors, but actual Rickman 41mm forks. To date, I have only seen murky photos of those forks and haven't located a pair.

Unless you have some info, I guess I'm on my own in sourcing the rotors to fit the Rickman hubs.

If anyone else out there recognizes these rotors, I'd appreciate any input. Thanks! RR

This bike has the Rickman forks. By the way I do have a Rickman frame I'd be willing to sell.

Cavebear, I'm interested as well if Jaguar passes. Of course, the issue isn't just the frame but the associated parts. Fortunately, I have them already. Thanks. RR

Here is a link to a French forum where someone has aquired a HB-1 frame to restore!

Plus, there is a model maker in Japan making a miniture HB-1 from the one in Japan. Fiddle around with the links and you will find alot more pics.  Truly amazing craftsmanship!!!!!!!!!

Most interesting - that was a ultra high spec bike indeed with the big block and the piper 16 valve head too!  I note all the posts are about a year old- would be interesting to know what progress he has made but my searching of the site, and my minimal French, didn't turn anything up; any news?

I wonder what happened to the Piper-head bike. Could this be an 11th HB-1?  RR

Any more info on the twin cam piper headed 750.?

The only one I've ever got any info on RR, was the one Dennis Curtis built in the early 70's.  From what he said the heads were pretty rough, and required considerable work to fit, mainly oil passages.  I've found info on their TC head for twins, but not the 750 one. :(
