1984 honda 650sc nighthawk

Hi Im a U.S. Marine just got back from hell, went and bought this nighthawk it runs great but theres a pinging sound coming from the heads when i  opened the left plate there was some metal shavings  im not a mechanic just know the basics can anyone tell me what i should do please help thank you

Thank you for your service.   I dont know much about the dual cam 650's but sure someone will point you in the right direction.

Ah. You got bumped into the "other bikes" wastelands. The main forum only deals with SOHC4s the 84 Nighthawk was DOHC. Checkout the Honda Nighthawk forum. Not updated as frequently as this site, but there's some pretty smart people on there.
