Tach refurbish
« on: February 22, 2010, 01:29:40 PM »
I searched and searched but could only find posts on how to replace gauge faces. My tach "jumps' at high RPM, (despite a new cable) and I would like to try cleaning and re-lubing the internals. Babyfood posted a good tutorial a while back, but all the pictures have been deleted. Does anyone know of a link to tach rebuilding instruction?
Thanks

I've had a couple open. This post is for Speedos:

But you can use it as a guide to lube the necessary parts. When you get it open, it's quite obvious, it's all the gears that need grease. Make sure the little spring inside it still working properly as well.

Very cool, thanks. I didn't think to search 'speedo's'.
