Testing dashpot damping on gauges 750K0
« on: February 11, 2010, 12:51:02 PM »
Hi Anyone know hot to test out the dashpot dampers on 750k0 gauges? I presume there will be a fall rate vs time characteristic of the needle?

What's the problem? I thought it was a reasonable question  :o I don't want to rebuild a K0 rare gauge and then find it jitters all over the place when I finally come to ride the bike!

not an entirely stupid question, had good luck testing speedos with an electric hand drill, (variable speed better), just close the chuck on the free end of the flex cable.

I am testing with a variable speed DC motor. What I am getting at is, at say 50mph reading on thre speedo, and then stopping the drive, how long should the needle take to come to zero?
