Drag bars on a CB400f
« on: February 15, 2010, 08:14:21 AM »
Hey all,

I had drag bars on my 550--loved the look, the riding position, etc. But then I found out about the serious downside: a hand-control-shaped dent in the tank when the bars swung too quickly too lock.

My 400f's tank, however, looks a lot slimmer than the 550, and the bars are lower to begin with. Does anyone if drag bars will impact the tank on a 400f? And if so, has anyone come up with a workaround that doesn't involve welding new stop-tabs onto the lower tree?

Thanks.

I drilled and tapped the stop tabs on my 550. Worked great. Sorry I really didn't answer your question

I don't have any issues with the drag bars hitting the tank on my 550, but I did have to be really careful with them when I had the exact same ones on my 400F years ago because they would hit the tank just before they hit the stops.
