Cool!  So this is different than the Carberry Enfield v-twins?  Looks like this guy's one-off maybe.  It sounds really cool, though he's reving it much higher than I would dare to!
Andy, that's a cool link.  It seems the older iron barreled Enfields would make a great expedition bike for their simplicity and parts availability.  I wonder how many parts for the 2006 and older models would work on the 1954 model here.

  JB, I believe that IS the Carberry V-twin that is in that bike. I HAVE seen one bike with that engine in it and posted it here, quite awhile back (when I first posted on the V-twin). Pretty cool setup, I think! Mainly the lower end is different, while the rest is Enfield. I wouldn't mind checking one out, but the cost would be more than I could stand though. To find out about the interchangeability of parts,you'd need to go to the Royal Enfield Forums. I don't have time to find it in my bookmarks right now, but will see about it, when i return (if someone else hasn't beat me to it).  

      Actually, unpon research, I have found that this is NOT a Carberry engine. Carberry's is a 1000cc (using the top end from 2 500cc engines) and THIS one is actually a 700cc (using the topend from 2 350cc engines) Here's more on both:
