CC chambers
« on: February 15, 2010, 07:52:26 AM »
Any of the 500 guys cc their combustion chambers?

The last head I did with only a graduated cylinder and all four were 13cc's so that's what I was banking on. This time with a burette and a head with only 0.005" milled off the deck I get exactly 12cc's....big difference in CR value that I wasn't counting on.

Quess I'm just looking for validation.  :-\

quick and dirty calc - 0.005" (0.127mm) off the head would only be about 0.3cc reduced volume.

The other head had some material removed as well and 1cc isn't very much but I'm sure of these chambers and wonder if I was off on the other head. If anyone has checked I'd be curious.

Sam, don't underestimate the explosive power of maple!  8)

I'm a little embarrased to say I rechecked these chambers and I had misread the burette, the 500 chambers are indeed 13cc's.

It's not earth shattering news I know.

Its difficult for us chaps to admit our mistakes, which is why God created women so that they could constantly point them out for us.

It's ok TG...I'm better now.  ::)   Thanks anyway.

With only 0.125mm milled off what I believe is a stock surface the measurement is 13cc.

The retainers look good huh?
