Topic: what year of cb450?

what year is this bike from the ad says 71. it has a disk brake and centre cluster oil lights. to me looks like a 74 from what i could find.?
any idea's and are there good and not so good years for these types of bikes.
thinking about making an offer.

      Well, by the design of the emblem on the side covers (if they haven't been changed) would indicate a 1973 model. The disc brake was first installed in 1970. Here's a link to show the different years.

Looks like a K6 to me.

What's your VIN number??
If it starts "CB450 6xxx....", then it's a K6.

      The emblems on the side cover of both the '73 CB450K6 & '74 CB450K7 were the same ones. The link I provided will tell you right away, which model you have.

To add to the problem of identifying these bikes, there were MANY variations according to the country into which they were imported. Additionally, over the years, people swap and change parts including side-panels, tanks, forks, etc, etc.

So in answer to your question, it's a K2-K7

         Yeah, seems to be quite a variation of them, depending on where they were for.

  Myself, I've got one that by features, it's a K1, but by serial numbers, it's a K2? Last comment I had about THAT one, was it might have been for Canada and someone brought it down here.

      The emblems on the side cover of both the '73 CB450K6 & '74 CB450K7 were the same ones. The link I provided will tell you right away, which model you have.  

There was a slight difference - K6/K7 air cleaner cover emblems were the same design, but K6 were white/yellow, while K7 were white/red.
Otherwise, no differences....
