motorcycle inspection?
« on: February 16, 2010, 01:46:13 PM »
Just wondering if somebody can give me the low-down on what a motorcycle inspection is all about and where or when it is required? My bike has a Nebraska bike inspection sticker on the front fork from 1982 (which i think i will keep on there since its my DOB, kinda cool).

In NY it is simple safety no emissions. The check the lights, horn, brakes, tires, fork seals, mirrors. Some tap the spokes.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

Sounds like common sense stuff to check before you ride anyway, guess that's why they don't require it in NE anymore. well, I assume its not required since I haven't been told otherwise.

Probably the same in Nebraska as it is in Kansas.

If is an out of state title they check the serial numbers to confirm they match, that's all.

If it is an in state title, they don't check squat.

If you're talking about Vehicle Safety Inspections, according to this website:

http://dmvanswers.com/questions/154/What-are-the-safety-inspection-requirements

Nebraska doesn't do them.  I'm assuming that goes for motorcycles as well as cars.

LOL, here they usually just ask a lot of questions about the bike, and forget to do the "safety' inspection at all...  LOL   !!

Used to do them in Arkansas as well, but not in years now. Here, they were too much trouble to make sure they were done right and that folks weren't just going through the motions. Least that what I heard.
