Anybody ever try to cut spokes?
« on: January 11, 2006, 07:06:16 AM »
...if you do, don't use a recipricating saw.  I ruined 2 blades trying to salvage some old hubs and rims.  The first blade I figured it was just dull.  The second blade, I cut 2 spokes and that was it.  ???  Not sure what kind of space age steel they made spokes out of in the 70's?  Grinder with a cutting wheel made short work of it.   ;D  I also hear bolt cutters work well...

A big pair of bolt cutters will do the job just fine.
The allmighty Home Depot has a wide selection.
The longer the handle, the less work you have to do........
