The "Street Rod" was the best of that line:



BUT, since it had performance built in as part of the design, none of the true Harley guys would give it a chance and they killed it after a couple of years... kind of like Buell...

Belt drives are nice. Quiet, durable, low maintenance. Why change back to a chain?

I have ridden V-Rods. They are cool, and lots of fun. I just don't know how far I want to ride one? I'd be happier in the saddle of my friend's CB550K with the contoured tour seat on a long ride. Some times progress in style doesn't translate to progress elsewhere.

I'm honestly not a fan of V-rods. I do like harleys in general. I would never want to own one if it had to be my only bike though.
