They were great. They developed and sold the Mosrite guitar.

Here they are doing Wipeout:

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

Bobby, I loved the Ventures Music then AND now, but I'd rather hear "Wipeout" by the Safaris. Listen:

Simie Mosely built the mosrite, there WAS a ventures and a venturesII model mosrite though. Johnny Ramone played a Ventures model.

I got myself a cassette a few years ago, but the main one featured on it was Pipeline. Nothing wrong with THAT, just wish Walk, Don't Run and some of the other more popular ones were on there also. ;) I also liked the Chantay's and

I really hope we're not hijacking this thread here, but I can't resist slipping in a couple of The Atlantics. Aussies that started in early 60's & still playing 2010.

This from the 60's. Bombora. They reckon motor cycles are dangerous? Check out these riders on 10ft planks!!!!  8)

This not all that long ago, same tune, Nothing wrong with us old farts I reckon.

Bill, don't you worry about a turntable. Cousin Bobby can fix that problem.

Yeah, Bill: I actually searched for almost a year to find a new turntable when mine quit around 1997, finally found a nice, servo-belt-driven, speed-correctable, 16/33.3/45/78 RPM version for $100. Then I had to buy a new amp for it: talk about hard to find today!

My all-time favorite LP is still James Gang Rides Again. But the Ventures: Susan and I danced the varnish off the floor of her apartment back in 1978 with those guys ;D.

You know, it's been lots oyears since I really had my stereo out and used it! It's like getting with "an old friend again" and the TV is getting a pretty good break too! My Daughter Karla, grew up with Brenda and me listening to "OUR" music and she really is into it as well. 8)

Thanks for the memories!

That was all great!
I want to die like my grandfather did...in his sleep and not screaming like the passengers in his car!
