Removing Air Box for Carb Air Filters (Size?)
« on: February 17, 2010, 01:21:19 PM »
Does anyone know the size of the carbs (in mm i think) in order to purchase the correct cone airfliters?

I am removing the box and looking to place 4 individual air fliters on each carb....
Thanks
Newbie (hahaha)

You could always measure your air horn to make that determination.  Prolly a better option since yo haven't told us which bike or which carbs.

Are you sure you are up to the challenges of out guessing the Honda engineers when it comes to filter & jet modifications?

What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?

Will you be changing the exhaust configuration?  Will your mechanic be taking you out for a ride in the new boat you are about to help him buy?

It looks like you'll want to order the 39mm pods.

Like Oldschool said, though, you may want to consider this modification. Many people love pods but many others have gone from airboxes to pods or from pods to airboxes and preferred the stock airbox. Velocity stacks are built into the airbox that the pods do not retain, this affects performance.

I encourage you to read this thread... the whole thing

;D Spot on...last guy I knew who took it too a mechanic paid $1100 for a crappy carb job and even then it wasnt right....be very careful!! Best to learn to do it yourself. Better yet, get the bike running with stock configuration first before making changes...much much easier.

good luck
Andy
