Now don't misunderstand what I am about to say. I thoroughly agree about the Insurance thing, but sometimes, the way an Insurance agent handles things, can make a difference. Case in point. I used to have State Farm Insurance through a Lady in Fort Smith. Never had a claim for years and our car broke down on the freeway in Conway Arkansas. I had the car taken to my Dad's place (about 45-50 miles away). Then I took care of getting it back home to Greenwood, at my leasure. I went to the Agent and was asking for part of a reimbursement as I knew I couldn't get it all back because of the distance. The agent said that we'd been with them for quite a while and hadn't had a claim, so she authorized a COMPLETE reimbursement!
I NEVER expected that! Our rates were always good and even though we eventually did have a couple of claims, things went well. Then she retired out of the Insurance business. There was another State Farm Agent that was in Greenwood (the other one was in Fort Smith) and we thought we might as well take our business to HER, which would be even more convenient being as she was in Greenwood). Well, things went pretty well, until I had to have my Van towed because the oil pump went out. he tow company took the bill to the Insurance agent and was told we didn't have "Towing" on our policy! Coast me $90 out of pocket and they were told that "Towing should not have been left off, as we never dropped it" and to make sure it was put back on!". So, about a week later, a minivan we also had at that time had to be towed because of a trans problem and once again the bill was taken to the Insurance Agent and once again, "Towing was not on our policy! And once again, I had to pay out of pocket! By this time, I'm looking for another insurance company. In the meantime, I traded
the full size van for the 2006 Grand Caravan that I have now and the Sales manager told me that he contacted the insurance agent about the change in vehicles and I was covered (otherwise I couldn't leave the Dealership with the van. So, I go along, thinking I am covered! After a couple of days, I figure I'd better stop by the Insurance agent
to get a Temp Insurance card and find out, they claim to have never been contacted about the change!
I now have USAA and have not had ANY problems. plus my semi annual rates drop some, nearly every time I go into a policy renewal. They seem to bend over backwards to take care of business. Sorry to get into a long post here. Just wanted to share that though.
