Are you kidding me?  Are you just looking to bicker?  Why else would he put that there?

if a one line quote from a document constitutes endorsement of an entire philosophy, then ok maybe he was.

Are you guys really going to argue this guys state of mind? Wait a minute while I make some popcorn.

He was messed up in the head enough to try to kill his wife and her 12 year old Daughter (by setting the house on fire, with them in it), along with whoever he could take out in that building. Not exactly who I'd want to be identified with. :-\

His wife & daughter left yesterday and stayed in a hotel last night. When they arrived back this morning the house was already on fire.

Shows how reliable CNN is, they were reporting this morning, the things I said. ::)

But hey, you live down there, so I'd rather take YOUR word than theirs anyway. ;)

moving out of Cali... not so crazy.... moving from there to Texas?

 :-X

Austin is overflowing with California transplants.  They all came during the internet/tech business boom when companies were getting big incentives to set up there, and then never left when the bubble burst.

Even with all the transplants it's still an amazing city, even though it happens to be surrounded on all sides by Texas. ;)

Wow, 20 replies and nobody's blaming 'hyper partisanism' or the 'Tea Party movement'.... any bets the media makes that stretch before the weekend is over?  I think I'd buy in on a few squares on that one.

I haven't checked Fox "News" yet, but I'd be very disappointed if they haven't already figured out how to blame the President for this.

What this guy didn't mention and obviously didn't realise was that his decision was about to take away all of his choices.
Along with that is effect on the innocent people.
It is the same story that goes with the Tower bombers and others who have chosen to turn out the lights for this belief that there is some form of glorification to take this path.
He mentions that insanity is being a repitition of thought expecting a sudden diiferent outcome.
This all gets back to the choice thing.
All of these issues will not be overcome with violence and weopons.
His actions are copycat 9/11.
A couple of weeks ago here in Darwin, this guy walks into the local insurance office with a shopping trolley laden with 3 20ltr jerry cans full of fuel and a heap of fireworks.
"A disgruntled claiment told to piss off"
The line of negotiation has been drawn and that's as far as it goes - here is the result.
http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2010/02/06/122131_ntnews.html
I don't condone these actions but maybe there might be a better way to deal with this stuff before it gets to this point.
Just my thoughts.

Yeah, I also believe that SOME of these things could be avoided, by the way things are previously handled and ANY that can be defused before getting to the Destruction stage, would be great! Now, we all know that SOME folks are beyond help because they just have that attitude. But yes, ANY that could be avoided, would be fantastic. Such a waste of Life! :-\

It's a big call Bill, but somehow there must be some form of reasoning to deal with these people (peacefully) who get to this stage.
I just dunno what the answer is, but I do believe that with some commmon sense and understanding all of this sort of thing could be minimised if not avoided.
It all happens as an act of revenge.
Maybe that is what it is, and once this is overcome, we're in with a fighting chance.

Yeah, I agree because, as things are going now, who know's where it will stop? I mean, look what seems to be in store for our kids and their kids and so on. Ya have things like this and then, the other Countries developing Nuclear Weapons (and with the attitude of some of THOSE) makes me wonder how much longer before the Earth can last? ???

What it comes down to is that people hate being screwed by companies and corporations. Take insurance for example. All the BS loopholes that they use to get out of paying claims yet still charging the premiums that are too high. they get by with it as people are required to have auto insurance or home insurance.

Say you got home insurance and your house burns down. If they even think they might have some sort of "proof" that could possibly construed as arson, you ain't getting #$%*. And then when it is proven to not be arson, you still have to fight with the company to reverse their previous decision.

It is things like that that drive some past the point of reason.

This guy here had a point, though it really did not apply to him. He probably made pretty good coin but figured he should have been able to keep it all.

But you know, if he was going to do something like this, why some govt building? Why not go to the source? I mean if you are going to make a statement like this, go to where this crap is put into law.

this guy just took out innocents that were just trying to make a paycheck.

all the pieces are falling into place and the only thing left is an manufactured epidemic to drop us into martial law.

forced to stay in your homes, inaccessible hi-ways 'n' food banks with proper ID and immunizations filled with dangerous chemicals to keep you "safe"
full pat downs where they grab your wife's boobs and you can't do anything about it, screens that can see through your clothes...

it'll be a good time had by all. ;D

Now don't misunderstand what I am about to say. I thoroughly agree about the Insurance thing, but sometimes, the way an Insurance agent handles things, can make a difference. Case in point. I used to have State Farm Insurance through a Lady in Fort Smith. Never had a claim for years and our car broke down on the freeway in Conway Arkansas. I had the car taken to my Dad's place (about 45-50 miles away). Then I took care of getting it back home to Greenwood, at my leasure. I went to the Agent and was asking for part of a reimbursement as I knew I couldn't get it all back because of the distance. The agent said that we'd been with them for quite a while and hadn't had a claim, so she authorized a COMPLETE reimbursement!
I NEVER expected that! Our rates were always good and even though we eventually did have a couple of claims, things went well. Then she retired out of the Insurance business. There was another State Farm Agent that was in Greenwood (the other one was in Fort Smith) and we thought we might as well take our business to HER, which would be even more convenient being as she was in Greenwood). Well, things went pretty well, until I had to have my Van towed because the oil pump went out. he tow company took the bill to the Insurance agent and was told we didn't have "Towing" on our policy! Coast me $90 out of pocket and they were told that "Towing should not have been left off, as we never dropped it" and to make sure it was put back on!". So, about a week later, a minivan we also had at that time had to be towed because of a trans problem and once again the bill was taken to the Insurance Agent and once again, "Towing was not on our policy! And once again, I had to pay out of pocket! By this time, I'm looking for another insurance company. In the meantime, I traded
the full size van for the 2006 Grand Caravan that I have now and the Sales manager told me that he contacted the insurance agent about the change in vehicles and I was covered (otherwise I couldn't leave the Dealership with the van. So, I go along, thinking I am covered! After a couple of days, I figure I'd better stop by the Insurance agent
to get a Temp Insurance card and find out, they claim to have never been contacted about the change! ::) I now have USAA and have not had ANY problems. plus my semi annual rates drop some, nearly every time I go into a policy renewal. They seem to bend over backwards to take care of business. Sorry to get into a long post here. Just wanted to share that though.

Oh yes, I agree that we ARE in a Very Sad State. I haven't flown in years myself, but have heard stories about thing similar (but not as drastic). It's a Damn shame about the way things are going, that's no lie! No telling where it when or where it will end up.  :(
