Emgo Pod Filters

Looking for some pod air filters for my 78 cafe project and I'm not wanting to pay the $150 or so that K&N wants for theirs.  The Emgo pods look nearly identical and are about 1/4 the price.  Does anyone have any experience with the Emgo pods?  The bike's not gonna be ridden alot so I'm not real concerned with the performance problems people have had with pods at speed...I just want to know about the quality and washability and durability.

i have had a set on two of my 750's. i think they're great. especially for the price. i've heard some people say that they're junk, but i used the same set for about 4 years now and havent had any problems with them. i have cleaned them and they held up fine. i switched to a set of k&n on one bike, but only because i got a deal i couldnt pass up on some used ones.  just be careful when you clean them. dont use compressed air. just soap and water and let dry.

Here is an Ebay sale at $8.95 per. I think these are the ones I bought last year.
Picked up a K&N filter cleaner kit and they have worked out GREAT!/

Honestly, most of the riding that's gonna be done on this bike will be to shows and bike nights...it's not gonna be very comfortable, and besides, I rather risk dumping my Harley than my soon to be beautiful '78 CB ;)

Thanks for the vote of confidence on those filters, guys...Makes me feel better that I'm not gonna have to spend as much money as I originally thought.

no, but i do know anchovie. we tried to start a bike club last year that never went anywhere, along with a few other guys. how do you know him?

I have the pods on my 550, no complaints yet. I do question the filtration quality though, they look quite porous. I was thinking of going to the K&N's because I wanted the black end caps, but had no idea they were that much.
do you know the K&N model # for the 550?  (curious)
