Got some NOS Parts for my beautiful CB450
« on: February 19, 2010, 10:14:26 AM »
Mmmmmm, just got some New Old Stock for my CB450 - a brand new Speedo and Tacho. Fitted em last night and just took a pic of them in situ.

Also fitted a new pair of shock absorbers, some "Honda 450" tank emblems and a period headlamp-visor. Don't know about you, but I think she looks bloody gorgeous. Just need to wait for my new front fender to arrive and she'll be pretty much finished.

I'd go into debt to have that one.......

How about some more photos - I'd like them for my files.

Yes, I've sure been lucky recently. America has been good to me  ;D

TBPMUSIC....I'll be going out this weekend, so I'll try to take some more pix if the weather isn't too bad. In the meantime, how about this "arty" shot?

Is that a 5-speed engine?
What about the front fender - is that stock?
Turn signals stock??
Taillight??

I'm also very interested in the frame/engine numbers, if you don't mind - you don't have to give the whole number....

Yes, TBP, it's a 5-speed K1 (1970).

Frame No : 302030n

Engine : CB450E-002063n

I changed the last digit to an "n"

UPDATE: Ooops! Sorry, in the dark garage I thought the engine number started with a zero, but it is, in fact, a 3.

Interesting - a US frame number from 3008xx and up would be a K2.
Your engine number makes no sense at all in the US.....

Nope! To be honest though, there's NOTHING that surprises me about the CB450. It seems that there are a vast number of variants out there even before the end users start to swap and change parts on their bikes.

That's one gorgeous 450!  You gotta love that tank, it's so classy and fast looking!
Kinda reminds me of the BSA's.

Nice job sourcing those NOS parts too!  That's always exciting when you find something like that!

I've started a "CB450 DIARY" in the form of a blog so that anyone with a similar bike may benefit from my experiences with the machine as I go along.
