Howdy from Utah
« on: February 21, 2010, 07:24:32 AM »
Good morning all. I am happy to have found this place I will need it as I got a 1972/3, CB500F recently. Headtube tag indicates 12/72 mfg. date but supposedly it is considered a 73 because it was undoubtedly sold and registered in 73. History is very sketchy other than it was not taken care of mechanically. I have most of it in boxes right now as I tore it down to the frame in the last couple of weeks. Thankfully rust is not a huge problem. A little history, In SoCal in about 72, (moved to Utah about 16 years ago, no I only have the ability to deal with one wife, and not to offend, Ha, but I do not belong to the cult either, but I digress) Anyway in 72 I owned a cb450t which was a POC but cheap, then got a cb350f! (ah, to know then that it would have been worth keeping). Life, of course, got in the way until about 6 years ago when I got an 81cx500 fixed the cam adjuster and sold it, then got a 67R69S beemer, refurbished it from the frame up and sold it,(kicking myself again) and now the cb500f, if it rides as nice as the cb350f did I may keep it awhile. Anyway thats it for now, might post some photos and such later today after church. You will note I said refurbish to my liking, not restore, never had the cash for that and never will as my working days are over. Peace, Jordan

No pics just great memories, It was a red one with 4into1 Jardines a backrest and luggage rack and a front crashbar. sold it in 74 I think, for a dollar a cc which was the going rate at the time. I drove the snot out of it with trips all over California and Baja Mexico. Jordan
