Hey from Tampa fla
« on: February 08, 2010, 04:48:07 AM »
Hey everyone. New to the board. Just got my first bike, a '76 CB750. I plan on going for the cafe look. I know nothing of bikes or more than super-basic mechanical knowledge. So, this will be a huge learning experience for me. Hope to speak with you guys in the future

Welcome Palmer ,
You are in the right place for any kind of info about these great old bikes. This forum is highly addictive and most probably any question you have can be found here . Great sources for parts in the FAQ section, or just do a search on anything and BAM, there it is !
I really misss Fla, worked out of Tampa many years for DirecTV, lived down in Gulfport, 2blocks from Boca Bay, now I'm in Houston 60 miles from the Gulf !
Glad you are here, need any thing PM me and I'll try to help !
George
Found this bike in completely stock condition in Feb. 08. Paid over twice what my new one cost 30 years ago. Am trying to re-create the look of the late 70's Drag Bike styling.More later. 4-2-10 It ain't stock any more and I have no idea what I am trying to create !

Thanks George and Mystic. The bike runs good, at least I rode it around the block a few times and it didn't stall and seemed to sound fine. Here are some pics as it was when I got it

As soon as I get the cash I plan on buying:
Clubmans
Cafe seat from RocCityCafe.com (he's going to mod it with a removable cowl for a two-up)
I'm debating buying a fiberglass tank with knee inserts or finding someone to hammer my tank (I can barely draw a stick figure no way am I trusting myself for that)

I ordered:
New rear shocks from PartsNmore.com The PO decided to melt the springs..bummer.
Front fender
New electronics rectifier flasher relay etc
Turn sigs

Here is the bike now while I'm waiting for parts

Once it gets going I should start a build thread.

Thanks again guys
