GL1000 forks are nearly done.

Need to order my Woodcraft clip-ons and figure out my headlight ear situation. Also need to fab a new bracket for my speedo, and mount up my steering damper, but we're getting there.

Looking bright and shiny. I'm PC'ing my fork lowers. I like how the DCC tree looks. Did you stay stock on the fork tube length or shorten them?

To do it over, I might go -1.5". There's 4" below the bottom triple though and almost that much travel.

Hey Dave,

I'm jonesin' to see how the new front end is coming together on the bike. I am working on getting my GL1000 front together, too, for my Nine Lives project.

I just spoke with Mike Rieck today, and my stage 4 is coming along for my new project. I think I am going to run Mikunis on that one. The top end engine specs are modeled on yours.

Waiting on a couple of small things, like the 37mm fork-leg, steering-damper clamp, and STILL trying to decide on headlight brackets.

Get the first ones,shim the clamps ....020 shimstock or cereal box cardboard, then later we can make better looking one piece clamps for 37 mm.

The last time I heard a CR750 run was Yoshi Kosaka's bike (www.garagecompany.com) at Corsa Moto Classica. LOUD AND MEAN!!! I bet yours sounds equally menacing.

For comparison, I came across this video of Honda's unbelievably bad-ass RC166 6-cylinder (which Mike "The Bike" Hailwood rode to 10 out of 10 wins to completely dominate the 1966 World Championship. Enjoy.

OK, GL1000 forks on the bike. Waiting on my fork brace and steering damper mount. Need to fab a new bracket for the Vapor speedo, and bracket for the front fender, mount a cable guide for the brake lines, and make a slightly longer axle spacer - but it's all there.

(Yes, I know the Woodcraft clipons are reversed. I never could get those things right the first time...)
