hey guys,i just picked up a 1981 cb650 custom.this bike has been sitting a while,so it needs a lot of tlc.other than the obvious carb issues,is there anything else about this bike i need to know?are there any peculiar engine problems with these or anything else ya`ll can think of.thanks

If this is the sohc 650 carbs are a nightmare, generator brushes and rotors go west plus reg/rec apart from that should be ok

A little defence of the 650 here.  The cv carbs are easy to work on. They are just diffrent.
I hear everybody saying the charging goes south.  I have hade 5 650s on the road at diffrent times and only had one charging problem and it was a bad cable.

terry,i just read your post.the po says he did change the alternator rotor?,i think thats right.so i guess ill see how well it works
