76 550 gasline routing and other carb question
« on: January 13, 2006, 10:23:20 AM »
Hello,
Putting tank back on.
Does it matter which rubber gas line from the carbs conects to which "nipple" or outlet from the petcock?

2nd question is, when I did hook up the two lines(not sure if correct though) ..gas ran non stop out of one of the top over flow tubes ???
Is this because I have the lines hooked to wrong outlet?
Thanks,
Lee

# 1,  No, not really

#2  Unlikely,  Probably a Float valve in carb not closing, due to debris, or float pivot stuck.

Thanks TwoTired,
This has a happened before after bike had set for some time with a smaller drip, but quit once carbs were "used" a bit. This time it poured out.
Thanks Again,
Lee
