Thanks guys,
One of those forums, DOHC, I bookmarked. The F Models and Customs are very different bikes. Lots of sites for F Model info and forums. Not much for 900 Customs.
I love the bike. It has about 17,000 miles on it. I rode it last week. Yeah it's long and heavy. I've had Harleys for 30 years. Ride a Shovelhead Five Speed FLT Dresser, on mountain dirt roads when I feel like it. Can't wait to take the Custom up Wilson Creek to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
It ain't a sport bike, but is damn sure fast for me. I'll never ride it much more than 75 percent of it's abilities. Might take it to a couple drag strips this year. I spend too many weekends at motorcycle races workin for magazines. I bet I can get it in the 12's.
I checked out the 900 Custom when they were new, but just couldn't bring myself to buy a Honda. Bought another new Harley. Almost bought one of those CBX later. I've noticed the 900s for years and called about most of them in the local Iwanna. Recently found a beauty, cheap.
Saw a 900 Custom, ratty lookin, on Bobby's Burn Out trailer last year at Hot Sprangs. Chasin leads on parts bikes. Always a good idea to have your own parts bikes. I'm into Suzuki Samurais, have six and four good titles, tryin to build three for me and daughter.
Anywho, I might get to the other responses. Will likely have questions. Often run across cool old Hondas.
