4,000 miles on my 400f last year. I hope to ride to work a lot this summer since I have a job where I only have to move my tools once every couple of months. I used to have to carry them daily so that put a serious damper on my riding to work.

I missed many years of riding between my teens and my 30's, in 2001 I picked up my 750K3 ($200) and began my education here, or Greenspun rather.
I didn't do any riding for one reason or another until 2008 when my wife began to finally take an interest and we picked up a bike for her, a 92 750 nighthawk. I've been riding that ever since while my K3 lumbers slowly to completion as time and money allow. No long weekend trips, but I'd like to as T&M allow, but I usually ride when temps hit 50* or so, and I'll log usually between 80 and 150 miles every workday I ride.  Before I park it for the winter temps get down into the 40's but in the early spring I'm a bit shy to get out in the cooler temps...being really tired of freezing my a$$ of all winter off the bike.

It's been about 2 weeks since i've rode last. Pretty much constant snow  >:(. I've got 2 ridable sohc4's and 1 non-ridable sohc4. Also a sohc twin and one with no cams at all.

12,000 + miles on public roads every year for the past 12 or so.

SOHC CB 750's currently in use:

1969 Sandcast, goes to the weekly garage night on occasion with other rides thrown in.  Used as transport at Mid-Ohio VMD 2009.  It's ugly.

1971 with big 'ol Wixom Bros. fairing, commuter and short to mid range touring duty.  Planning on riding it to Barber Vintage Festival October 2010.

1970 Production Class racer.  Has it on display at the Chicago International Motorcycle Show this past weekend.  This bike is retiring from racing duty.  I'll be bolting the lights and electric starter back on and adding a second disc up front.  Planning on spending a lot of time on back roads in Wisconsin this summer.

1976 Vintage Superbike Heavyweight racer.  Dual discs, 18" wheels, Ohlins shocks, Tarozzi rearsets, other nice bits.  My next racebike.  Engine currently under construction.  Planning on debuting this bike at Road America Vintage Festival 2010.

I ride year round.  When it gets cold enough I bring my wife's old dirt bike out to a frozen pond in Wisconsin and we run it on the ice.  This year we rolled out a 1980 XS 650 and that bike is heavy enough that it convinced me to ABSOLUTELY NOT build a CB 750 for the ice.  Ice bike season is almost over, we've got a team effort planned for an SR 500 for next year.

Also have a 1997 XR650L for dirt/dual sporting an a 2004 Triumph Tiger for long haul touring.  And my wife thinks we bought the 2001 Superhawk for her.

I'm happy to say I'm a real-world rider and a K1 750 being my only ridable bike out of 3 SOHC4's....I also like to post a pic. now and then to prove my bike is real and actually ridden..!! and also show that there are several SOHC'ers here in Nashville that ride together...... that being said, members with bikes in various stages of ( dis)assembly are just as valuable on this Forum IMO. and I just happen to be one of the lucky ones that have a ridable bike..........

I ride my 76 every week, almost 4000 miles after its restore/rebuild.

Here is a pic of us last summer.

We also ride the Kawasaki on longer rides, and I have grown to like the big Kawi as a short hop rider.

Put 6k miles on my 72 K2 since I got it last summer. Used to ride year round, but now that I'm older, and have other options, I try to use the bike as much as I can in nicer weather to save on gas. Looking back, I guess I've only had SOHCs or NOHCs (two strokes) heh..except for the Virago but since it doesn't run, it doesn't count.. ;D Plan on putting lots more miles on this one and the 77 750A I recently got, as soon as I get the trans straightened out.

i ride my 500 often, sometimes to work, mostly with friends or even by myself through our hinterland roads, its warm all year here so no excuse, although i drive a heavy truck as my job and do 200-250 kays per day around the gold coast so somtimes im sick of being on the road and need to give my reflexes and brain a rest from the giveway(yield)and stop signs,is that dog going to run in front of me?that guy moving furniture on his pickup hasnt got it secured well ill change lanes, that car full of youngsters arent paying attention and the driver is on the cell phone ,theres a macdonalds ahead ill bet theyll swerve into the drive thru, that car with the smashed indicator light might move over into me,young mums in big 4wheel drives in a mobile nursery attending to kids in the rear seat,,,i love riding,,,sometimes its just another day on the road.i do about 8000 kays per year on the bike.spent years on dirt bikes of all shapes and sizes,we have great dirt bike country here, started about 14 years old on mini bikes,,take care out there everyone.

I don't think I have owned a cage for about 3 years now. CB550 has been down for about a week waiting for gaskets but in the meantime i am on a 79 cx500 its a nice change of pace but I'm missing the 550.  If there isn't ice on the road I am on the road unless I have been drinking but everyone should walk home from the bar every once in a while good excercise.

I bought a new 73- 500, then a 74- 750 My wife rode the 500. she scared the heck out of me on the bike. after a while I sold the 500,  3 kids and a company car later I moved from a 1200 sq ft shop to a 2 car garage and sold the 750 so I had room for my street rod. fast foreward to last year, my brother had a collection of 750 parts bikes behind his garage and the city made him clean up the yard. Sooo I drug them home, started building a chopper from the worst one then wanted some Lester mags, found the K0 with some, bought it, got it running then we found the deal on a 75 wing and 75F so we bought them. Now I have added 24 x 32 to the back of the garage. There are 8 bikes, 3 that run, 1 project underway and the rest parts. I have raided his parts stash severley for my K0 and have just about got it looking right.
I am loving riding again, I didn't know how much I missed it until I got back on a sohc. He still owns his bought new K4 750 and we got it running also.

Does a GL1000 count as an SOHC?  It's only got one overhead cam, just happens to have two heads  ;)

I've got 9 bikes in the garage (well 13 actually, if I was to reassemble everything) and that includes a Triumph Rocket III, three Suzuki GS1000's, and nine Honda CB750's. (sorry, but I only ever liked the 750, although I restored a 350/4 in 1996 and it was fun)

Of those (almost) 13 bikes, only half are runners, and having a company car I don't ride any of them as much as I'd like to. Having said that, I still managed to do around 6000 miles on them last year, including two interstate runs. I've sold 2 bikes in the last 3 months (my Laverda 750 SF1 and BMW K1100LT) and while I want to continue to "thin the herd", I hope to give each bike at least one or two decent rides this year. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"
