Hey Alex,

Pleasure talking to you here! We wanted to compete in the Spa race just to see if it would bring what we expect it to bring. A lot of fun and nowhere near running for topplacing. Our machine is based on the SOHC so powerwise not in the same class as most of the others.
Maybe next year??????

Cheers, Rob

Hey cb1100rb,

Croix was crap.... at least the weather was. Track was a mess due to some of the 'bikes' leaking like hell, and still were permitted to get on the track.
I had my eldest ride my bike the weekend. And then you know, first time on the bike, first time on the track, very bad weather and oil on the track. so no lap records  :D
No it was a part of our learning curve, both in driving and in preppin' and setting up the bike. Problem with the Dyna S and coils killing battery life. So will mount the resistor pack from hondaman to see if that will bring some, or mount the (lightened) alternator, to keep the battery alive.
Next outing will be end of the month in a place called Oss during the dutch championship races, where a former dutch rider will do 3 sessions with it as kind of a crowd pleaser.
See you at Spa I hope.

PS. where did you find these pic's, do you have a link?

Cheers, Rob

Hello

Very nice bike !
No track sessions at Dijon for the Coupes Moto Legendes ?

Pics came from : http://kawasaki-power.aforumfree.com/sorties-piste-f29/70-cyclerun-2-mai-t6602.htm
Seems it was the guy next to you in the paddock who took the pics (world is very small O:))

Thank you! Yes I now recognize the pic's. The guy who took them is a very friendly character, who will participate in the Spa 4h race. Last year came in 23th, which is a great achievement. Surely will pay him a visit when I am at Spa in June.
thanks for the link.

That 400 did well, but unfortunately crashed in the wet. Just minor damage to the fairing. Talked to Clive, and I think a son of him at the picture sale. He had no grip at all with the Martin Honda.

In order to cure the ignition probs we had at Croix am fitting the alternator back, without the electric start. Have turned one considerably down on the lathe and in my enthusiasm also the centerlumb, where the bolt is located against. Is that a problem or does that nothing for creating the magnetic field? Always thought that was created on the outer part of the rotor.

Rob, guess it begs to be said that something is wrong with your setup if its so power hungry. I run a 90's gsxr box and coils and the small, 5Ah (or something like that) battery lasts me 4 X 20 minutes sessions + the race.... I only put a freshly charged one on race day for safety.

Ric, see you friday down in Magione! did you get the right pads?

Hey TG,

I wonder what could be wrong... It's a Dyna"S" with 3 Ohm coils/wires. I use a very small Lithium battery(2.3 Ah) that could(?) be the prob in this setup. Have placed the resistor pack of Hondaman now to see if that brings something or have to step up in battery capacity.

Hi Rob,
Croix did look rather wet... but it was a run-out so allways a pleasure...

We hope to be at Cartagena in September, just speaking to some interested parties re some support, it is a LONG way from the Isle of Man... ;)

However we will be back at the Bol d'Or Classic next year, barring disaster we are going to go for a top-5 finish, looking at the results we only need to find 5 laps and now that we have addressed the lack of power issue we should be somewhere close...

We would like to do Spa but it is always difficult to arrange as it falls around the TT, this means getting on and off the Island is a nightmare and very costly... well that's for next year, who knows eh...?

Anyway,
We MUST catch-up soon..

All the best
Alex

Thanks Alex,

Weather was awfull at times, but we managed to make the best of it. First time out for my son, new track, new bike (for him), dreadful weather and a lot of oil on the track............ that will build his confidence :D :D.
We learned a lot and was a good first one.

Cheers mate,

Rob

Its all good experience...!!!

Soooo when are you going to make the pilgrimage over here to the Isle of Man...?

You all would be most welcome (might be able to squeeze you in)...

The Manx GP is on later this year, i am sure you would love it...

Anyway, enough of my coercion

Catch you soon...
