Ahh.. A taste of summer!
« on: January 12, 2006, 06:47:27 PM »
It got up to the mid 50's with dry roads here in SE Michigan today, so my wife and I took advantage of it by slipping out of work a bit early and getting our bikes out of hibernation and going for a spin. I know it's supposed to snow tomorrow, but I don't care. Spring will be here before we know it. We met up with our other biker buddies who also enjoyed the thaw. It was like a snapshot of last summer. You need a crowbar to pry the smiles off out faces tonight.... ;D

Anyone else around these parts (or elswhere) get out for a bit? (KevinD, etc?)

not today jonesy but yesterday for sure.  you see, that weather you're expectin... it's here in colorado.  at least it's damn cold.  about 30 degrees cooler than yesterday.

anyway, back to yesterday.  elizabeth and i took her vfr to fort collins to pick up her chain and sprocket kit.  yes, she still has to ride on the back as her cast doesnt come off till monday... but, at least it is within a week!!!

the weather was wonderful, some wind but not too much.  we visited 3 shops in the fort collins area so we did our sight seeing.  ;)  on our way back thru longmont we had a bite and a drink at the "pumphouse".  this was only after discovering that lefthand brewery is no longer there???!!!  was a good day.

the best part came when we were putting thru (as well as a vfr with a two brothers exhaust can putt)  berthoud, colorado and as we passed a group of 4 gradeschool aged girls i yanked in the clutch and gave the throttle a good blip to send the rpms into the stratosphere.  every one of those girls nearly hit the deck and we could here the shrill screams of terror even over the roar.

elizabeth finally stopped laughing and said thru her helmet "and that's why you're my favorite"

oh, what fun it is to be heffay

We had a 52 degree heat wave here in Cincinnati and I had a chance to get out for three hours or so.  I sure do miss the sound of that engine!  Even saw a smaller cb out today!

Nope, battery is out and on trickle, CB is buried deep in garage. But I can still enjoy the nice weather, as I work outside most of the

time. Saw one Electra-Glide out today, and a Ninja yesterday. I target for April 15 to Oct 15, already stretched that out this past

year to November 15th with the nice fall weather. We still have the tiniest snow pile at the corner of the driveway.

Was about 55 yesterday.
Didn't get a chance to ride , but did allot of work outside.
Did a complete claybar/detail on my truck, in-between spraying coats of
paint on my new CB tank...

And today it's snowing ::)

CBJ-->

It MIGHT be my bike. It is actually on Ebay at the momment. They took a 2004 Triumph
and make it look "old school" , hardtail , Springer,  etc.. Pretty sweet.  :o
If I dont end up buying it, I am  gonna try and make my CB look as much like it as I can..

That bike is fine if you have roads without potholes, bumps, curves, deer and frost heaves.
Up in New England you would break your back within 100 miles.
