Turn Signal question... CB750 K4 (with Pics)
« on: February 26, 2010, 05:29:28 PM »
Hi Folks,

I'm spending some time to try to sort my turn signals out.  I've finally disassembled them.

Now, I understand why the front signals have two wires and the rears only one, the front bulbs have two filaments... Is one a 'marker' lamp and the other the turn?  The rear bulb has only a single filament.

The Honda parts fishe shows only single wire signals (front and back) for the K4 bike... Any idea why mine is different?

Also... is there an aftermarket supplier of turn signals for this style signal?  I remember an eBay supplier, but that person was selling single wire signals and was claiming they would work for both my front and back.  They might, but I'd lose the marker lamps in front, I would assume.

I really only need the metalic bodies for all of my signals... My lenses and the internals of the signals seem just fine.

Does anyone have some number of signal bodies that are in nice shape?  Mine are a little crusty and show signs of being 'laid down'?

Here's what I'm looking at - rear on left, fron on right.

 Thanks, Scott

K4 wire diagram shows front markers/ dual element bulbs.
The markers would be the Blue/white and Orange/white connections from the bar controls.  Connection points in the head light bucket.

Have you tried Western Hills Honda as a parts source?

I Think K4 was that last year for the small lenses. Yours look like the big ones (K5 and up) in the pic. Either way, they have both at that site and either will work. I have the smaller ones on my K5 (looks better)

You can also try the wanted section on this forum and I'm sure someone will have some.  ;)

EDIT: There the smaller one's I goofed bulbs go sideways on the bigger ones.  ;D

THE FRONT TURN SIGNALS ON YOUR K4 WERE THE ORIGINAL SMALL ONES, RIGHT HAS BLUE FOR TURN,  BLUE WHITE FOR RUNNING LIGHT. LEFT WAS ORANGE FOR TURN AND ORANGE/WHITE FOR RUNNING LIGHTS.  ALL THE MID SIZE FOURS AND UP HAD RUNNING LIGHTS IN FRONT STARTING IN '74.
