Early style 550 fender on a late style fork leg?
« on: February 28, 2010, 11:49:01 AM »
I want a fork brace but cant find one that would allow me to keep the fender with the early style "low" fork legs. I have a fork brace from fast for the past that fits the later style fork legs that are longer (As in high enough to clear the fender and tire.)
So my only option now is to put the later style forks on my bike so I could use the brace but I really really really want to keep the stock fender. Its the one with the fender "hoops" in the back and in the front. It seems to me that the later fork has all the same mounting points for everything and that my stock fender should bolt right up to it.

Long story short, do the early style and late style fork legs for the 550's (or a 750 if it will work) have all identical mounting points for everything?
