1953 HONDA DREAM 3E

HI, NEW TO YOUR SITE, LOVE OLD HONDA'S, LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOU MY 1953 HONDA DREAM 3E,I LIVE IN THE UK, THIS BIKE CAME FROM JAPAN, JUST ABOUT TO START WORK ON IT, WOULD LOVE TO HERE FROM ANYBODY WHO HAS THE SAME. ALAN

sorry abots caps, only noticed when i had listted it, based nr worcester, love these old honda's, but also had lots of pre war bikes, i thnk the 1930's was a great time for bikes. alan

it is pretty complete, it was missing its right side cover and the case had a crack in it, but i found one in a few hours in japan, paid for it on Monday at my house on wed,the bike has a few  extras notice the motor on the front and a pulley wheel on the engine, also a really nice lock and chain , which i will keep on it.

cheers, love all things old, the datsun came from your part of the world, only right hand drive one in uk, would love to buy a honda s600, so if you know of one for sale, interested, the dreame 3e has the engine apart at the moment, just going to do , engine + a spare engine, wheels, brakes control cables, wiring, and get it through its mot and it on the road.alan

Stunning collection, and thanks for sharing. Welcome to the forums!

A friend of mine has 2 Honda 600's. He got them both from Kalispell, Montana. Rust free, one blue, and the other yellow. They run well too!

  Is that your personal bike or is that one you just did for the museum?  You must have a wealth of good contacts and/or outstanding skills.  That's the nicest one I've ever seen.  The ones I see on the net are always pretty shabby, no offense to the original poster.
  And how in the world did you track down that mudflap?

 So it seems you work for the museum.  What a "dream" job!!  I envy you sir!  Kudos in your efforts in keeping a little bit of Soichiro alive.

Thanks for your kind words! I am one of three "Restoration Specialists" at The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, Alabama.

The 53 Dream you see was done by me for the Museum. Well over a year of full time work went into the bike. It was a real pile before we started on the project. We had to make many of the parts you see by hand. Some of the more interesting bits we made are; The chrome trim, the rear grab rail, the rear rack, the center stand, the rear fender, two of the transmission gears, the piston, the valves, the control cables, the entire exhaust system, the complete wiring harness, and yes, the mud flap. The mud flap was cut on our Omax waterjet machine, as was the "Honda" badge that we attached to it. Kinda cool huh?

I rode the bike for the first time about three weeks ago. Just about brought tears to my eyes.
