Topic: Petrol tank.. Aluminum? Steel? Ehh?

Forgive the question but my bike manual doesn't say anywhere what the material of my gas tank is. if it's aluminum then I'll just sand her and wax her but I doubt that is the case because there's a really mini chip where there's rust and it doesn't look like the way aluminum oxidises. If it's steel she's gettin' a few coats of ferrari red and about 6 inches of clearcoat.. Hehe.. I mean.. 6 coats.... : P

Wouldn't that make all of our lives so much easier if they were made of aluminum.

Stock tanks are steel but if you aren't sure.....they have these things called magnets!!!!!
