As much as I don't want any bags on my bike, I'm gonna need them this summer. I've looked at a zillion pics of soft bags but it's hard to tell what they'll look like on my 750. And what might be the best fit or size.?.? Anyone willing to post pics of their bike with saddelbags? Thanks!

MOTO PAK  ;)
Great expandability, good price, good fit, 2 long trips and I like them.  http://www.motopakluggage.com/
I did replace the cardboard on the inside with thin ply to have them sit better,

i actually have a pair of saddlebags that i used when we did camping in the state forests with the horses. all i need to do is lift the seat and put the connecting strap under the seat to hold them in place. theyre plenty large enough for 3 days worth of clothes and spare boots

I've had some good luck with a set of Fieldsheer bags. They velcro across so you can adjust how high/low you want them to ride on the sides, which comes in handy if you have upswept pipes or load them down pretty hard. I can also unzip the sides and make them wider to hold more. They come with rain covers too. I hold enough to easily go camping from the bike for a week, including food and the small camp stove/pots. Kit picked up some waterproof duffles at the Army surplus store for $5. You can lean back on them too when you need to relax a bit on the road. They hold everything else like the tent and sleeping bags, keeping them all dry and dust free. We even pack bike covers too. Just use a big spider net or some bungees to stack it across the seat and saddlebags.  :)

I prefer the seatbag with extended pockets on each end that mimick a saddle bag but are eaeier to take off. Wolfpack and several other makes come with modern ties and waterproof liners.

Ah, I found a pic from one of our camping trips. I was just airing up the tires... anyway, my bike is on the left. Those bags really hold a lot and yet aren't massive to the point that they take over the bike. My sporty is sized very closely to Kit's cb650 so you can get an idea of how they will sit and look, relative to the size of the bike. Then we just put the duffels across the top and we were set for a week. We actually packed way too much as far as clothes. We could have gone 2 weeks on that. We're chicks, what can I say? ::) I can also just hang one bag on, loop it through my small chrome rack, reattach it to itself with the velcro. So, for lighter trips like to work or if I'm on the scrambler (still working on it), I'm still able to use them. They have clip straps to attach to shocks or frame or whatever... to keep them down and in place. No fly away stuff to hang up in the back wheel. You can see that they slope up a bit towards the back of the bag so upswept pipes will be fine. Love 'em.
