Are you different in real life than you are in the forum?
« on: March 03, 2010, 01:25:50 PM »
In the forum I tend to post a lot and occasionally type somewhat lengthy posts (even though I try to keep them short).  In real life I'm very quiet (usually whoever I talk to doesn't let me get a word in edgewise).  So in real life you'd probably say I was a lot "quieter" than I am in the forum.

How are you folks different?

Nice try, Bub.  They look like June and Ward Cleaver holding hands on the way to church.   Sometimes when Bobert talks, I noticed a tear rolling silently down his wife's cheek.   I assumed it was love, but when she got in the sidecar, I would have sworn she murmed, "Save me!"    It took me a couple of days to realize she wasn't looking for religion.
(I feel kind of bad now...)

Being naturally shy, sometimes I do indulge in nervous nattering when I meet someone.  Now I feel self-concious, on top of everything.

Don't ever talk to me again.  NONE OF YOU!

I think I'm about the same as well.  But some of you....

I'm less of a jackass in real life.

When you first got here, I could not see that.  But you have mellowed.

I read the comment first and thought it was Industrial Cafe(Mary Brian)

hell i walk a cat wearing a kilt sometimes (me not the cat wearing the kilt)

I knew something was amiss at the first mention of the kilt.

I am quieter but much more of an azz in real life.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I guess the thing that makes me nervous is-  why would anyone want to?
It's not especially that I have low self-esteem, it's that I don't have any self-image.
No clue what anyone sees.

Nooo- not an invitation.  Just saying.

On line, I'm intelligent, well read, outgoing, but modest, thin, fit, and friendly.

In person, I'm not.

Or is it the other way round?

Well, I'm the same there AND here. When I first meet someone, I am a little slow to get used to them and then you'd better watch your ears because it's been said that I could talk them off. ::) Only ones I've met personally are "okie" (he's gone) and "jtb" (John). I can really get carried away when talking about Motorcycles and Cars!
