Does anyone know if a honda fairing and trim from an 82 wing will fit a 76 wing? My brother found a deal on the stock trim from an 82,

Yep it should.
I've had friends with both and I can't remember any major frame difference.

The same Vetter Windjammer faring will fit on either the GL1000 or the GL1100 without any modifications except the mounting bracket so I would guess that the Hondaline faring from a GL1100 (82) would fit on a GL1000 (76) with a few changes to the mounting bracket.

The Necked Wing guys are all right, you'll see.
They can answer your questions, most likely.
There's a real good chance a lot of them have removed all that crap from their bikes, so they'll be familiar with it....

I am a member on NGWclub.com, the new address for nakedgoldwings.com. I doubt if it will be an issue , probably a little fabbing on the bracket as mentioned, but will be glad to post the question there for you and replies to it here if you want.
