hello to all,i have been lurking on this forum for quite some time now and i figured it was about time to start my own build thread!
THE START:
a little history........i rescued the bike from a friend who rode it for a few years before losing interest .it sat under a tarp outside for 2 winters before i picked it up.
THE BAD: at this point the bike runs but poorly.plug number 3 is always oil fouled,. the bike is a greasy mess from an ignored oil leak around the tach ,the wire harness is chopped up,leaky fork seals
THE GOOD:this bike was ripping around the Canadian Rockies just a few years ago,he bought it off some guy who did a frame up resto.the frame is all chromed,the compression is good,maybe some cool engine work was done by previous owners.
So i picked up a parts bike earlier this winter:
the bike looks better than it actually is.i guess it spent 10 years outside and has no title.everything is rusted tight .after removing the exhaust i found this:
anyway after lots of cleaning and gathering parts bike #1 looks like this:
more cleaning,painting & putting it all back together soon.meanwhile a little bit of what im going for:
