That's a lotta Wendy's Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers (411, to be precise) for a set of used conrods!

used aluminum connecting rods. If you're going to go for it I'd spring for a set of Carrillo rods or even Falicons. I also saw thosw 5 "new" Golden rods.......didn't look to new to me. ::)

so whats the scoop with the aluminum rods, I've seen them listed new for 225 US, I've listened to a lot of people, including yourself express concerns over the stock rods for big bore kits like mine, so now are you hinting the aluminum ones aren't so hot either???  I'm not going to drag my bike, I just want to build this thing up, and the bills are getting pretty steep here!!!

Aluminum rods have a very finite service life. They also stretch alot when revved hard. If someone wants light, dependable rods I'd recommend titanium.

I just want to build my bike up reliably, but the thought of 500US vs 229 rods is hard call to make when I already have some perfectly ok stockers on my crank right now, I'd have to assume the aluminum ones would be far stronger than the stock ones correct??
