The Bank Job was recent and not bad.

First one to come to mind was "Entrapment" Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta Jones.

"Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" is pretty entertaining, particularly if you can adapt to the Cockney accent and jargon.  Many have never heard of this film.

Easier to follow but in a similar vein to LSATSB is "Snatch" with Brad Pit.

If you want to stick to Eastwood (Among a bigger list of stars) see: "Kelly's Heroes"  Set within WW2.

The Saint  Starring: Val Kilmer Elisabeth Shue  I found quite enjoyable.

Ronin with Robert De Niro

The Italian Job  (2003) is pretty fun.

Heat  ...Pretty hard edged

Sneakers  (very enjoyable and quite underrated, IMO)

The Score  (2001 directed by Frank Oz and starring Ed Norton, Robert DeNiro and Marlon Brando)

Swordfish  ...Has a couple of interesting items of note.   But, those notwithstanding it is a pretty watch for the whole movie.

Maybe not a heist film throughout, but I was impressed by "Hopscotch"  Walter Matthau, Glenda Jackson  (Which just happened to come to mind )

Quick Change - Heist /comedy-  Keeps your attention...

Enough for now...

Inside man is a great one. Lock stock at two smoking barrels is one of my favorites. The original Italian Job.

The Getaway starring Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw.  This may have been remade but I would go for the original.

For something obscure that is very good of check out the 1974 film 11 Harrowhouse.  Stars Charles Grodin, Candice Bergen, James Mason, John Gielgud, and Trevor Howard.

TT mentioned The Italian Job of 2003.  I have only seen the 1969 original but can recommend that.  The 69 film features great cars like the Jaguar E type, an Aston Martin DB4, a Lamborghini, and 3 Austin Minni Coopers racing through the sewer system.

Two thumbs waaaaaay up for Kelly's Heroes!

The Usual Suspects (1995) is another (somewhat convoluted) good one.

Resevoir Dogs (1992) is great.

The Heist,

... speaking of which, there was a movie called The Heist.

It had Gene Hackman as the main star.  It was very good.

I have seen it on VHS tape, I am not sure if it ever got put on DVD.

It is a good enough movie though to search around for and find out.

The intenseness of the opening scenes.... the way they plan to rip
off the place they have targeted is incredible.

Edit Add On.... I just did a quick web search.  The Heist with
Gene Hackman is on DVD.  But, be careful, there is another movie titled
The Heist with Pierce Bosnan, which I have never seen, so I can't speak
for that one.

Charley Varrick (1973) A great under rated movie starring Walter Matthau in a non-comedy role. Also has Andrew Robinson, (he played the psycho - sniper - punk in Dirty Harry) and one of the great all time screen heavyweights Joe Don Baker. A must see, I give it 4 stars.  ;) ;)

+1  :) Man you've got that right.  This is one of the most under rated films around.

I love Walter Matthau's character in this movie.  And what a great ending!

Love the way Matthau set it up.

Not only is Ronin a good heist movie, but one of the best car chase movies.  I think there must be 3 or 4 separate chase scenes, with one like 15 minutes long.

Two of my favorite heist movies. More funny than edgy:

Palookaville. Kinda dark, kinda silly. Watch it with a grain of salt.

Bottle Rocket. A Wes Anderson movie. Starring the Wilson brothers. I found it hilarious.

The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974)

A great  movie starring Walter Matthau in a non-comedy role.

Plumber: How come that gate ain't locked?
Caz Dolowicz: Who's gonna steal a subway train?

I heard something about a remake but why screw with near-perfection.

Fun with Dick and Jane.... with George Segal and Jane Fonda (77)

Another good one.

Jane Harper: Interesting that the only two jobs you think I am qualified for are a secretary and a prostitute.
Dick Harper: You're not qualified to be a secretary.

imdb needs more quotes from that one.

1976 CB550K, 1973 CB350G, 1964 C100

"Criminal" starring John C. Reilly. not so much a heist movie as it is a sheister/con flick. still good though.

"Following" is another excellent con movie. chris nolan's (inception, memento, batman begins, etc) first movie.

"The Score" with DeNiro and Norton is also good. (someone may have mentioned it, cant remember.)

"Bottle Rocket" is Wes Anderson's (the royal tanenbaums, life aquatic, etc) first movie. very quirky comedy.

ive also heard Stanley Kubrick's "The Killing" is good but i haven't seen it yet. it's on "the list." ;)
