He told me he had the original Yoshi reproduced when he first started making them last year. He doesn't say that anymore and in fact they even look different. I bet you are right, there was likely an 'issue'.  Yamiya on the other hand is offering Yoshis and they look beautiful but at the typical Yamiya "I wish I could afford it" price.

Carpy's yoshi pipe has the later style header pipes, not the hand bent type, the Yamiya pipe has the earlier hand bent style headers but has a 3 piece tail pipe, i much prefer the 1 piece tail pipe that Carpy has,  as it is similar to the original and less restrictive to flow, being smooth and not having the sharp welded joins...

he is having them made.supposedly by one of Yoshi's original exhaust benders from back in the day.I spoke with him and he said right now they are busy doing exhaust's for various high level racers in motogp.gettin them ready for Laguna seca.that is why there is a wait.He said a month but I am not holding my breath.500 beans is a lot of money to shell out when you have a mortgage, kid, bills etc.But the wife knew I really wanted one and told me to just buy it already.(I think she was sick of me talking about my bike)so I cant wait to see it.I can always rivet a yosh badge on it and lie to evryone.No.you guys would know the truth.

i may end up going with the cyclex 4-2-1 if i cant get the money together for this one, though i really would rather have this exhaust.

I had a few emails back & forth with Carpy late last year about his exhaust.
He was saying that there where some guys from Brisbane bringing in a container load of goodies from him but I don't know who that is.
If you can find an economical way I'd go halves in the freight with you if it all works out better that way.

Hi Mick, i may just have found a way mate. A friend of mine's Dad builds rods and gets parts sent over in containers from California, i have asked his son to check and see, for one, if it is Carpy that helps him out and if not i could possibly arrange for Carpy to send the pipes to who ever it is who ships his rod parts for him. My mate {Todd} says if i can arrange it there shouldn't be a problem. I will keep you posted..  By the way, Carpy told me the same story ...

Don't give in man! I dig the CycleX pipes as well but, performance being equal, the Yosh copy just looks and sounds SO GOOD on the bike. You'll have the extra bucks and shipping before you know it. That's what I keep telling myself anyways  ;D

just for #$%*s and giggles i checked on cyclex's shipping, which for that exhaust stated $15... cant be right. hell 65 isnt too bad if you think about size and weight. i am trying to contact carpy about shipping a seat... $40 for going from la to sf? almost the price of a on e way plane ticket! cant argue it cause i want the seat and the guy is trying to run a buisness in this #$%* economy... but jeez... i shipped a seat across the country for $19 and that was being overly careful with the packaging...

i sent a dressage saddle with all the fittings 2 bridles and several different bits from columbia sc to grants pass oregon for 26.95 last year. well, economical circumstances force me to buy the cycle-x exhaust since i have to have something on thhe bike so i can ride. i'm not about to have it down for the next couple of months because of having no exhaust. the one i REALLY wanted to get was the campbell x-pipe but that one is 579.99. i have champagne taste on a malt liquor budget.  :D
