What colour is this?
« on: March 09, 2010, 07:22:44 AM »
A bit of confusion on various sites.
Candy Sapphire Blue or Flake Sapphire blue.

It's Flake Sapphire Blue.

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Doesn't have the decal, so it's probably not stock paint.

More info on the bike it's from would help.  It looks like from a 550F.  '75 had Candy Sapphire as a color option, '76 had Flake Sapphire.  But again, those would be stock colors.

Sorry, it's from a CB550f bought new from Dave Silvers a few years ago.

If it is actually stock paint and it's from a '75, then that would be Sapphire.

I do believe it is stock and sapphire but flake or candy? I need to get my tank painted to match.

Lester:

From the pictures in your photobucket album:

I would (dare) say you have the flake sapphire blue due to the presence of flakes but I'm no expert.

Honda did list two separate "sapphire blue" paint codes:

PB-3C-C Candy Sapphire Blue
PB-3C-F Flake Sapphire Blue

Looking at your colours link I'm inclined to think it's flake.

Two problems bistro, I can't see flake and I'm in the UK. Just have to see if i can find a custom sprayer who can match it.  ::)
