My new camera kicks ass!
« on: March 10, 2010, 03:06:29 AM »
and it has been eating up all my free time just trying to figure out all of the features.  The instruction book has 250 pages of instructions!  270 total.  We picked up a Canon EOS 7D and it's the tits.  Check it out http://www.dpreview.com/news/0909/09090105canoneos7d.asp

In a few days when I can get out and take a few pics I'll post up a few.

Yeah, getting a new camera is always fun.
What are you using it for, business or pleasure?
Laugh at least once a day.

I don't think the Canon EOS 7D is the kind of camera you want to mount on your bike Alan...a little too bulky for that - not to mention expensive!  :o :o

I don't think I'll be mounting it to anything other than a pro-grade tripod.

Very nice cam. Take and post some pics, I'd like to see them. I tend towards Nikons primarily because of a bevy of lenses I already have, too costly to change horses. I'm waiting for the Dx3 to become something I can afford.. in about 5 years or so.  ;D

I've taken some pictures of the Iditarod, all on the auto setting, I had just unboxed it late the night before.  Nothing spectacular.  The lens than came with the camera isn't my favorite.  It will do until I can cough up $400.00 for the 35-80 mm lens.  Here is a pic of my boy, I had the camera set to full manual, only ambient lighting and high iso.  The pic looks better on screen than in print.

i was a picture taking fool when i got my new camera last year, not quite as fancy as yours but lightyears ahead of the 6 year old gateway digital i replaced. i have a fujifilm sf1000d, it even takes decent video, which came in handy when my wife told me i was full of #$%* when i said she snores like a trucker.  :D

Nice ;D ;)
Thanks.  Both of those were taken manually, except the focus.  Both no flash.  The black and white was shot at 4000 iso 250 shutter 2.5 aperture with late afternoon sub arctic daylight filtering in through one window.  I really dig the hell out of this thing.
