RK piston rings
« on: March 06, 2010, 01:00:18 PM »
anyone ever use these rings? I understand that that the ID mark goes up.  But both the upper compression rings are identical except one of em has a shiny silver outer diameter.  Which is the top ring?

Thanks.

Generally... the shiny silver is hardened chrome and goes on top, the compression ring.

Generally... the dark ring has a machining notch in it, but not always I suppose, and is the scraper ring.

Await further confirmation from someone who knows.
