2010 Daytona ARHMA results??
« on: March 02, 2010, 10:10:11 AM »
I was wandering around Daytona yesterday during the final AHRMA roadrace race and caught glimpses of Jay springsteen on a factory Harley dicing with a CR750 for the lead. I figured I would check here for the results because I had to leave early.

Anybody know the outcome  ???

I saw a japanese GS1000 superbike clone in the pits that looked very serious. It really wailed around the high banking but was far behind the CR750. That 750 must have made some serious HP??

check http://www.ahrma.org/  in a few days.  The folks who volunteer to run the races also post the results, so they usually have to travel home first.

AHRMA Daytona results are up on site www.ahrma.org

BTW...the CR750 that was howling round the speedway was the one I sold Keith Campbell of Atlanta, GA. He also owns that HD that Jay Springsteen was riding, while not a real factory RR harley it is a 60K wonder, built within last 8 years. But, still has no more than 87 HP at rear wheel. The CR 750 that I sold him started at 91 RWHP but he had it "de-tuned" so his harley could win.

Nice to have that kind of money! He has two other bikes just like it!

Keith has a lot more to keep those company.I missed out on checking Keith's place out (mini Barber museum) a couple months ago,but he sure has some really nice machinery! You see Keith @ the local shows with some of the other bikes, nice guy,but yeah he likes his Harley RR.His museum has many vintage Honda's and other bikes. Not sure if Keith is still racing, but was a few years ago along with his son.Bill..I believe he has a website for museum.

Keith is a great guy, but very wealthy, mind you he made it all on his own..did not inherit a penny from no one. But sometimes along with vast amounts of money comes crazy thinking. He let my team stay at his "barn, "as he calls it" on a trip to Daytona where we delivered the bike for his son to ride and yes, he does not want to get beat by him! Also, when son does not ride...Tim Joyce usually gets picked to be the pilot, but engine s has been neutered... so not much chance of Honda beating his favorite brand...davidson.  Hey, it's his money, his bikes and his playground. Good to be king!

Crikey we're putting out 123 with our little motor. You blokes need to do some work.:-)
Anybody know how the Irving Vincent went?

Well if you're talking funny fuels and all that, we had a 250 pushing over 100bhp back in the late 60s, I think it's you blokes need to do some work. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Come on Sam we're not talking nitro here, just some good clean green "A" and few bits and pieces cobbled together in the back shed.
Remember we're only convict offspring boobing around down here in the colonies.

Does anyone remember the beginnings of Formula USA?
As I remember reading, 'anything goes' were the rules. N20, turbos, F-1 bikes...

And they allowed those  last years models of two stroke GP500 bikes didn't they. Kenny Roberts brought some ex works Yamahas over and cleaned house? Or was that another later deal?
