Another 550 Cafe
« on: January 22, 2006, 02:57:02 PM »
In case someone would like to see another. Was originally a 73 CB500, removed all unneeded brackets, centrestand, will remove all kick start shaft etc. At this point have removed 51 pounds from original state, just a few more. My goal is to end up 400 pounds or less. (not me the bike!) Getting close, need to finish making sidecovers and it'll be ready for paint, then get the seat covered. I'm using 400F instruments, F3 handle bar switchgear and Works Perf. shocks. The tail, seat & rear fender plus rear frame from VF750F. Excel shouldered rims and stainless spokes WM3 with 110/80/18 up front, WM4 & 130/80/18 rear. I have big bore pistons & will use an after market cam, and have replaced the airfilter box with a single large K&N. I can't wait to work on jetting this puppy!

Yet another Different, but tastefully done creation. Also, another example of why I enjoy this site so

what kind of front fender is that? Looks sort of like the Superbike fender in the Dennis Kirk catalog....but without the fork fairings.

Looking for something other than the stocker for my Cafe project.

It's a 500 interceptor fender. It bolts to a home made two piece fork brace.
